Rafiqi Green’s bio says…
Rafiqi Green is an hiphop\soul artist born in the Lawndale community of Chicago’s West side. He expresses himself musically, covering many different topics from the introspective, social and political issues, defending his Islamic faith, to songs about love while also ensuring that he never compromise with his personal beliefs. Growing up in a musically inclined family, he was led by his parents to the schools that would help sharpen and cultivate his talents such as Howland School of the arts and G.W. Collins High school.
Graduating high school he went on to Rust college to study music in Holly Springs Mississippi. In pursuit of his musical career, he’s linked with programs such as Gallery 37 and the poetry club, he’s opened up for comedian Ricky Smiley, was a finalists in “Clear Channel’s” 2004 Chicago Idol of which he was interviewed on two of Chicago’s top radio stations WGCI and V103. He has worked with several artists locally and abroad assisting in writing and producing, and he’s currently working on new material and projects.
