Recently Roland announced it’s Roland Boutique line of synths consisting of 3 faithful recreations of 3 of their most coveted classic analog synths, the Jupiter-8, Juno 106 and JX-3p. Reincarnated the 3 synths return as the JP-08, the JU-06 and the JX-03. Some say it’s just another plug-in packaged within a controller because it’s not real analog circuitry. However, I have to say that the demos that I’ve heard are pretty convincing. I think they sound remarkably like analog reissues of the originals.

Using Roland’s ACB (Analog Circuit Behavior), which is the same hugely successful and convincing technology used in the Roland Aira line, the Roland Boutique line of synths are set to be as successful and as desirable as the Aira line.

Although, its only a short matter of time before there are reviews, audio demos, and actual units floating around all over the place I’ve been mad pleased with the demos that I’ve heard so far. This one in particular does a good deal to convince me that these joints are little beasts. I don’t think I can tell the difference between these and the classics.

If you still aren’t convinced of how well the sound was modeled or even how nice these joints sound, check this out.

“These little beauties are really quite something – this whole demo took about 45 mins to record and another 15 to finish off – They really are that fun and that inspiring ..” – F9 Audio
