Corry BanksSouth Central, LA emcee – Curtessy & South African producer – The Militia join forces yet again to bring listeners their lead single One for their upcoming debut collaborative album Expectations.
The single “One” features a guest verse from Jamla/Duckdown super producer and one half of “The Away Team” – Khrysis. This time finding the North Carolina veteran not behind the boards with the heat but rather showcasing his versatility on the mic.
Curtessy & The Militia… This is good ole boom bap. You have got to love the way technology and the internet enables collaborators from half way around the world to link up and spit bars and trade beats. Its worth mentioned that its cool to see Khrysis spitting verses. He’s no slouch on either the mic or the beats. But The Militia held it down rather nicely on this track. I’d venture to say that 9th and Khrysis might be The Militia’s influences with his soulful style of boom bap.
