They could easily be one of my favorite hip-hop groups with Dee Jackson’s concise and positive lyricism combined with the always super soulful and composed beats by Tall Black Guy.
Celebrating their 5th album project, just released on 3/20/2020, unLearn is a 14 song opus that finds Dee and TBG right back in their bag of tricks. Beats and musicality are stellar as per usual and Dee’s message and delivery are crisp and strong.
In this interview, 80’s Babies discuss the level of creativity growth, oneness and collaborative spirit that found it’s way into and throughout their latest project. Tall Black Guy, in particular, made a point to mention his time at Jazzy Jeff’s Playlist retreat and how it influenced the group’s growth in terms of production value and collaboration.
