Dope VST Announces Mumble Breaks

Dope VST drops their first sample pack offering entitled Mumble Breaks. I’m looking forward to digging in. It seems Dope VST put a lot of care into crafting this set of live drum breaks complete with classic analog warmth from the real deal ‘reel to reel‘ tape saturation and classic hardware pre-amps etc. Not only are they available for immediate download but they will be coming to vinyl soon. I don’t know about you but for me, breaks on vinyl are always a great idea. I am looking forward to that too.

As described by Dope VST;

We first came into contact with 19 yr old Kieran “Mumble” Leigh when we caught him killin’ the drums performing with his band “Atlas” and knew from that moment, whenever we started our drum breaks series Mumble would be the first drummer we approached to make a sample pack with us.

Fast forward a few months later and after a long session at the fantastic London Road Studios we present 50 fresh, live drum breaks that are full of character and vibe. Engineered by Max Hopwood and processed By The Passion HiFi these drums were recorded through Neve and API pre-amps to add that classic old school, soulful warmth and treated with a Manley Passive EQ to really bring the drums to life and add that much needed punch.

We finally mixed them down to 1/4 inch tape and bounced them back into the computer for additional editing and treatment, ensuring that you can use these right away with the minimum of eq’ing and mixing. Be warned! these are not breaks designed to just shuffle along in the background of a beat, with the punchy kicks and crisp snares that make these breaks, these will be more than enough to be the driving force of any track!

As a “completely royalty-free with no sample clearance required” sample pack, you are free to rock these in your beats worry free. But here is a bit about the license and terms of use from Dope VST;

You may use the sounds in combination with other sounds within your musical compositions.

You may release such compositions commercially without payment of any further fees or royalties for such usage.

You cannot use the sounds in isolation (i.e. when not within musical compositions) as part of a commercially released project – for instance you cannot use the sounds to make another sample pack…
