Corry BanksMadlib is personified by the tune, sing along if you will, “One of these kids is doing his own thang!” Here we find Madlib putting us all up on “the Southern African nation of Zambia’s vibrant 70s rock scene.” While this particular pocket of regional world rock is said to be one of Madlib’s favorite genres, how many of us even knew it existed?
Well, we shall all be moved by Madlib’s forthcoming Rock Konducta project where he fully explores his Zambian rock scene muse, the sounds of Zamrock. For those in the bay area, you will have the opportunity to get a hold of a few preview joints at Madlibs upcoming appearance. For the rest of us, we will just have to wait until the full length project drops.
While in San Fran on June 7th “Madlib will be selling a limited edition 7-inch EP containing selections from his forthcoming Rock Konducta album on Madlib Invazion. The 7-inch vinyl with white labels with sleeve are being manufactured in a run of 300.”
