BeatPPL Presents District 808 & District 909 Sample Packs

BeatPPL presents District 808 and District 909 available now on Beatppl.com

The latest in the line up of sample packs by BeatPPL has landed in the Beatppl.com shop. These classic drum machines, Roland TR-808 and TR-909, are the DNA of classic dance music and hiphop. The goal with the District themed packs was to revisit the sound that made so many classic hiphop records by playing with sample techniques and filtering to arrive at a more gritty version of the drums.

District 808 & District 909 are sample packs of creatively processed and sampled 808 / 909 drums and loops. District 808/909 was made using various analog filtering and coloring techniques to make these otherwise pristine and familiar samples a bit more filthy in the best way possible. The result is a different take on the classic 808 & 909 sound. If you can imagine 808 drums sampled into a classic sampler and further processed with a classic ladder filter and animated for movement and character, thats District 808.

Thinking back to the days of classic hiphop artist like Schoolly D, Salt n Pepa, Dana Dane, BDP, Kid n Play, Mantronix, Just Ice and on and on, the 909 was as present as the 808. As a matter of fact, they were often used to compliment one another in classic hiphop production.  That said, these two packs compliment one another very well.
