Pittsburgh Modular has announced a line of new Desktop Synths in time for NAMM 2013. The new line of desktop synths have been designed to fit into the studio environment while keeping with the modular eurorack style and sensibility making it easy for first time modular synth heads to dive into modular synthesis. Pittsburgh Modular’s “Cell Foundation Desktop Synthesizer” & “Cell Modular Synthesizer System” is expected to ship in March and will be shown at winter NAMM 2013.
The Cell Modular Synthesizer System
The Cell Modular Synthesizer System is an expandable, eurorack, small format modular broken into three separate systems. The Cell System 1 is a complete single voice, analog synthesizer and a great entry point into modular synthesis. The Cell  System 2 is a signal manipulation powerhouse. A modular multi-effects processor packed with all the tools needed to sculpt audio and twist control voltage signals. The Cell  System 3 is an experimental analog modular synthesizer perfect for generating evolving textures and complex soundscapes. System 1, 2, and 3 are sold separately or together as a complete system.

The Cell Foundation Desktop Synthesizer
The Cell Foundation Desktop Synthesizer is our flagship product. The Foundaton 2.0 has been transplanted from the road case to a sleek Pittsburgh Modular Cell desktop case allowing the Foundation to feel more at home in the studio. A Toolbox module has also been added to the Cell Foundation Desktop as standard equipment. The Cell Foundation Desktop Expander is a new system designed to compliment the Foundation with increased modulation, sound sources, effects modules and a lot more. The Expander adds an astounding set of new of possibilities to the Foundation Desktop.
